- Calorific Value: 2800–3400 kcal/kg.
- Fines (<3 mm): ≤ 5%.
- Delivery and Quality Compliance:
- Daily supply for one year.
- Materials not meeting the quality parameters (e.g., excessive fines, moisture >14%) will be rejected.
- Consignments require tagging with detailed technical specifications.
- Price and Payment Adjustments:
- Base rate: ₹8282.4/MT (including GST).
- Price adjustments are based on deviations in calorific value (GCV):
- GCV < 2800 kcal/kg: Payable at 75% or 50%, depending on the range.
- GCV < 2000 kcal/kg: No payment.
- Raw Material Guidelines:
- Acceptable materials: Agro residue, certain additives (e.g., lignin, starch), and limited mixing materials.
- Wood from tree cutting is prohibited.
- Testing Standards and Methods:
- Moisture: Tested on-site before unloading.
- GCV, Fines, and Dimensions: Assessed using ISO standards or equivalent.
- Disputes resolved with NABL-accredited lab analysis, costs shared by NTPC and the supplier.
- Environmental and Economic Benefits:
- Reduces CO2 emissions, making biomass pellets a renewable energy source.
- Addresses environmental concerns like stubble burning and air pollution.
- Miscellaneous Provisions:
- Transportation by covered trucks or rail (with NTPC’s consent).
- Sampling and analysis done by NTPC in the supplier’s presence.
